JMTC is located in downtown Zeist, a small town located 30 miles east from Amsterdam and 6 miles from Utrecht. Zeist is famous for having an old castle named ‘Slot Zeist’. The oldest picture of the castle comes from the year 1540. This historic site was later expanded to accommodate the Royal family on their way from the Hague to Apeldoorn. The history of Zeist goes back as far as 23 March 838 when the name is mentioned in official documents for the first time.
In the forested area surrounding Zeist many remains of the French occupation in the early 18th century can be found. Zeist is the cultural and economic centre of a wider region. It has many nice shops and a range of beautiful mansion houses. |
